#6 Run a 5K – Training 1

This is going to be a tough one! As I was training today I was thinking to myself, “I can do this… I can do this… I can do this”. I want to push my body to the total limit … I feel like I did that today my legs are SOOO wobbly.

I made it 2 miles with an average of 12:30 mile…. That is much better than I did in elementry school :) but far from my 7:30 mile goal. I think my lungs were holding me back the most so I am going to continue to push through the pain and keep getting more consistant and faster. The track that I ran had some really steep hills and I think that probably caused me some problems. I would rather have hills than be caught off guard with my first 5k!

The biggest issue that I had was my shoes. I felt like I was running on steel rods with my New Balance and that just isn’t going to do. I have a pair of Vibram 5-Finger Shoes that I have been breaking in… also looking at some Brooks PureFlow. I really like to have the right gear for the job :).
